So I was blog hopping last night and came across a neat challenge and decided to play along ( killing three birds with one stone, work on my older photos and single layouts, work on my layout challenge - 52 for 2011 and have some fun with this one.)

So this is what I came up with using their sketch. (you can pull out the little tab for hidden journaling about my birth - weight and full name)

These are just some of the pictures that I raided from my parents on my last visit. It was so much fun sitting on the floor with my dad, and going through years worth of photos and memories. I ended up taking stacks from their albums all of which I have promised to scan and return to him.

Card Challenge

Today I had a great phone call with one of my closest friends Jenn - http://scrappin-geek.blogspot.com/ about our upcoming trip to convention. SOOO Excited I must add! She let me know that she was starting to make cards to swap while we were there. Well knowing that I would total be ticked at myself if I did not do this also I really made myself sit and start making some cards.

My idea is to create cards for my card challenge - 24 cards in a year and just make sure I make extra so that I have some for convention. I ended up making 6 total of this card. Lets see what I end up with at the end of June.

This layout is to be used for two challenges first the Helen layout challenge - This is a layout from Cherish with the left hand page turned to fit what I needed. The second is the regular 52 layout challenge.



I know this picture is harder to see - now this is a single layout I did from one of my older pictures. We had this photo taken for my DH for christmas in 1998.

I know, I said I was not really good at making cards so I was going to pass on the card challenge. But I decided to give the Card challenge a try as well, I figure I should be able to make a least 2 cards a month right?! So here is the first. I also complete this cute little tag as well.

Jan 14th layout #1 for 52 week challenge

This is a really bad shot I know, I tried cropping it in photobucket and moving it over that way but it did not work - sorry - so for now please do not look at the messy unmade bed of my daughter in the back ground. lol

Ok so recently I joined a challenge that i found on a fellow CTMH consultants blog -

The challenge is to make
52 layouts this year.
2 cards a month.
There was a added challenge of doing every card in the wishes book as well as follow and do all the challenges from Helen Onulk's blog found here http://www.hookedonstamping.com/

Now I am going to do the 52 pages and all of Helens as well. I am really bad at cards I find them really difficult (not sure why but is one of my weak points) so I don't think I will do the wishes book. I may push myself to make one card a month we will have to see.

I used a canvas, 8X10 purchased at the local $1 store, painted it with an off white acrylix paint.
Edged the canvas with my black stamp pad (CTMH)
Used a piece of Black CS as matting - distressed
Paper from wings level 2
Pleated ribbon also CTMH
and the two stamp sets January:find your style and also Dreams come true
